God is unseen

God is UNSEEN

How do we know God is there when we can’t see him?

Today we will answer that question and look at bible stories about the topic.

Now Elisha would tell the Israelite king where the Arameans [their enemies] were encamping because God told Elish whatever the king of Aram said even in his bedroom when the Arameans king found out he sent an army to kill Elisah in the city of Dothan when the servant saw the large army, he called Elisha to see the army,

Elisha said to the servant – “Don’t be afraid, those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” then the servant said ‘what more with us than them’, then Elisha asked God to open the servant's eye’s then the servants’ eyes where opened.

The servant saw hundreds of the Lord’s fiery chariots defending them and Elisha asked God to strike the Arameans with blindness. Elisah informed the army they were not in the right place and Elisha led them to the king of Israel, once there Elisha prayed to God to open their eyes the Aramean army saw they were inside Samaria. The king of Israel asked Elisha if he should kill them, to which Elisha answered of course not, he also ordered them to set food and water for them to feast and drink and let them go back to Aram. Hence, the king of Israel gave the Assyrians food and drink and let them go back to Aram.

2 Kings 6 vs 16 (Niv)

“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

Now there are many things you can learn from this true story like that you need to show grace, mercy, and many other things in this case I want you to learn that God is always with you even if you can’t see God.

Now let’s look at another bible story but this time the true story will be from the New Testament.

Now Jesus had been crucified and had risen from the dead! Now all the disciples have seen Jesus except for one Thomas. Thomas wasn’t there when Jesus came to the disciples and when Thomes came back the disciples said Jesus had come to them; Thomes said I won’t believe you until I put my finger through his hands and feet and put my finger into his side.

Then Jesus came and told Thomas to put his finger through his hand, and feet and into the hole in Jesus' side. Thomas did that and Jesus said Thomas you believed because you have seen, blessed are those who don’t see but yet believe.

This is why Thomas is sometimes called doubting Thomas.

Isaiah 41:10 NIV

"So do not fear, for  I am with you do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen  you  and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

You don't have to see God to know that God is there, but you have to just believe; but, if God shows you that’s ok. I am not talking about hearing and believing everything like news but I mean we should hear and believe without seeing what the bible says even though we can’t see it because the bible is trustworthy. After all, God is trustworthy and the bible is God’s word.

John 20:28-29 Niv

Thomas said to him; “ My Lord and my God! ”

Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; but blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.

Often, you might not see God but you should still believe that God exists and you will be blessed.

Summary time

We learned about Elisha and the Arameans; we also learned about doubting Thomas, and that we should believe the things it says in the bible even though we can’t see them, and that we should believe everything but only the things it says in the bible because the bible is trustworthy after all God is trustworthy and the bible is God’s word.

Bye, see you soon.

 THE END.
