  Love Covers All Wrongs   Today we will learn about love in the Bible and that there are many kinds of love. We will look at the Hebrew words for love and see that love is not only the marriage kind of love.   First, we are going to learn about the Hebrew word for love. Now, there are many meanings for love, and we [people who speak English] only have one word for all of them, and that is Love! But in Hebrew, there are multiple words for love, like the love a man has for a woman, the love a woman has for a man, the love a man has for another man, and the love God has for us; we will be looking into all of those things.   In Hebrew, every letter has a meaning. Now, the first letter in the Hebrew word for love that a man has for a woman is Vav, which means hook, like when we say “they got hooked together, I mean in marriage,” but in all of these letters, two of them are the most important. Taste & See

  Taste & See When you taste something it's like a piece of gum, you keep it in your mouth, chew it, but then spit it out when it becomes stale. But eat God’s word! Don’t just taste it like gum. Don’t just take a bite and spit it out! Eat it!   Now I'm not telling you to eat your Bible literally, but metaphorically. Your spirit needs food, not only your body. and that food is God’s word.     Now you might ask “Then why does Psalm 34:8 say, O taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man that trusteth in him?” without tasting God you can’t see that God is good.  So, the psalmist is not saying don’t eat God’s word! he is saying taste and then see that the Lord is good.       Don’t see then taste, but taste then see!   Most of us see something and then say “It’s not tasty” or “it’s tasty,” but the psalmist says, taste, and then see.
