God is Omnipresent
God is Omnipresent
God is everywhere, which means
that God is present in all places at all times.” God is omnipresent” meaning
God is everywhere. you might say “How can God be everywhere at the same time?”
well we don’t know! Because we can’t see God or comprehend God, you might
ask “Then how do we know God is with us or even exists?” well because God says
so, in the Bible
Psalm
139 2-3 ESV [English Standard Version]
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
You search out my path and my lying down
and are
acquainted with all my ways.
So, the psalmist is saying, you see whatever I do, and what I think.
Jehovah Shammah is a name for God that means God is everywhere.
Yes! God knows when we sit down
and when we stand up. God knows our thoughts and is familiar with all our ways.
This means that God sees everything we do and knows what we think. No one can
hide from God because He is present everywhere.
We cannot hide or run away from
God, just like Jonah tried to do, Jonah didn't want to talk about the one true
God to the Ninevites who were his people’s enemies. so, he tried to run away
from God! But no one can run from God. God still saw him. God sees us too, no
matter where we go. Like the bible says in
Psalm 139 7-10 ESV [English Standard Version]
Where shall
I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend
to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
If I take
the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
even there
your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
God is always with us, just like
he was with Jacob. Jacob was running away from his elder brother because he
stole his elder brother's inheritance, and now his elder brother wants to kill
him! Now he is on his way to his uncle Laban's place, and it is night time and
he is all alone and with no shelter. He slept with a rock as a pillow and had a
dream where he saw angels going up and down a ladder. God was at the top of the
ladder and spoke to Jacob. In Genesis 28:15, God promised to be with Jacob.
This shows that God is always with us, no matter what.
Genesis 28:15 NIV (New International Version)
I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.
People can abandon or forsake
us, but God will be with us no matter what. The Bible describes God as a rock,
which means that God is strong, reliable, and trustworthy. People may not always
be there for us, but God will always be with us. This is why God is everywhere
and always with us.
Isaiah 26:4 MSG (Message Translation)
Depend on God and keep at it because, in the Lord God, you have a sure thing.
Summary time
So, God is everywhere. We can't
see or fully understand God, but we know He exists because the Bible says so.
In Psalm 139, it talks about how God knows everything we do and think. We can't
hide from God, just like Jonah couldn't when he tried to run away. God is
always with us like He was with Jacob when he was running away from his
brother. People may leave us, but God will always be there. He's like a rock,
reliable, and always present. This is what it means when we say that God is
omnipresent. So, yes, God is everywhere.
Bye, see you soon! THE END.
