use your Talents

USE YOUR TALENTS

God has given all of us talents, but what should we use it for or use it at all and is it really inborn in us?  That and more we are going to learn about today.

God gave us all gifts or you could call them talents, talents like sculpting, carving, painting, crafting, writing, etc, some people don't use their talent or use it for the wrong reasons, the right reason is to spread the good news and glorify God.

You also need to use your gifts to help others and for God. If you don't use your gift the world might never see it, so you should sharpen and use your talents or gifts.

1 Peter 4 vs 10

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

Now first you need to sharpen your talents. God plants a seed in you and you need to grow it like James says faith and works should go hand in hand.

James 2 vs 14 – 26.

James points out that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone, he also adds that faith without works is dead.

So, sharpen your abilities. In the Old Testament, we come across a person who treasured and cultivated his gifts.

Exodus 31 vs 1-5

Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri from the tribe of Judah. (Uri was the son of Hur.)

I have filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God and have given him the skill, ability, and knowledge to do all kinds of work.

He is able to design pieces to be made from gold, silver, and bronze, to cut jewels and put them in metal, to carve wood, and to do all kinds of work.

God needed his tabernacle to be built and he gave talent to all the people God chose Bezalel because he sharpened the gift that God gave him which was creative art, through his works he glorified God. God needs you to use your gift to glorify him.

Isaiah 43 vs 7

Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.”

Remember, all talents should be used. If you leave your car or bike unused it will rust and become useless, leaving your talent unused for too long will cause it to decay as well.

In the parable of the talent the bad person buried his talent you should not bury your gift and we know what happened to him; the talent he had was taken away from him and given to the one who had made it many.

In the Old Testament we come across one such person he was given the ability and talent to be the first king of Israel. He was one foot taller than everyone else and God gave him the courage to become king, he used his talent at first but then he got prideful and used his talent for his own glory and not for God.

He didn’t obey God and he didn’t have the patience to wait for Samuel the prophet to offer sacrifices to God, so because of that and more; God took the kinghood of Saul away and gave it to little David.

Revelation 4 vs 11 (Kjv)

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure, they are and were created.

Always use your talents, for the glory of God because we are created for manifesting His glory.

Our talent is inborn in us we just have to unravel it.

Proverbs 22 vs 29

Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.

In the parable of the Talents, the master tells to the one who multiplied his talents; ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much.

Enter into the joy of your master.’

Summary time

You must use your gift for the right reason for God for others and for his Glory by spreading the good news. You should also sharpen your gifts; if you don’t use something like your car, it will rust. When you don’t use your gift then it will decay.

So, cultivate your gifts and don’t just let them be or they will be given to someone else and we don’t want that, do we? NO! So, Work on it and live to bring joy to your maker.

Bye, see you soon THE END.
